How I review
Two kinds of articles, each labeled at the top. I would rather admit what I did not test than pretend.
Research-based
I have not held the product. I compile manufacturer specifications, measurements from independent testers, and patterns in public user reviews, and I list every source at the bottom of the article. I never write "I tested" or "after a week of use" in these articles. Where a number comes only from the manufacturer, I say so.
Hands-on
I used the product myself. For AI tools that means at least 7 days on real work, using a free plan or trial, and the screenshots come from my own account. For physical gear it means I held and used the product. I describe what I did and for how long.
What I will not do
- Take payment for a positive review or a ranking position.
- Publish a quote, rating or testimonial I did not collect myself.
- Claim a test I did not run.
- Hide that a link is an affiliate link. See the disclosure.
How I choose and compare products
- Start with the buyer's job: what are they trying to do, and what is the budget?
- List the specs that matter for that job and ignore the rest.
- Check manufacturer claims against independent measurements where they exist.
- Write who the product suits, who should skip it, and what I could not verify.
Corrections
Prices, specs and models change. Articles show a published date and, when I change them, an updated date. If you find a mistake, write to me. I will fix it and note the correction.
